Calling shotgun isn't all fun and games. There are serious responsibilities that come along with riding in the front seat, so if you're looking to ride and relax your best bet is to ride in the back. If you do decide to sit in the front seat it's important to follow these rules for riding shotgun.
- One of the biggest responsibilities of the person riding shotgun is to help the driver with directions. The driver is unable to use his/her phone for directions so you should help make sure you're going in the right direction.
- Another important duty of the front seat passenger is to help the driver stay awake. That means that you can't fall asleep either! Keeping the driver engage in conversation will not only help the driver stay alert, it may even make the time go by faster.
- As the person riding shotgun, you may also be tasked with helping the driver eat. That means opening a bag of chips or taking the cap off of a bottle of water. Eating big meals should wait until you're stopped.
