There are certain things that you can do each season to ensure that you can have that car for a long time.
In the summer, you should do the following: Check the air conditioning system to see that it is ready for the hot summer, change you tires to summer tires, check the braking system to see if it is ready for unexpected wet roads, and check the battery to if it is still clean and efficient.
In the spring, you can do this: Remove the salt that you accumulated over the winter, check the alignment and suspension that could have been changed by a hard winter, change oil and check fluids, check air pressure of the tires as well as rotate them.
In the fall, you can: Inspect your battery, check your headlights, especially if you left the car outside a lot during summer, check the tread of your winter tires to see if they are ready for winter, wash and wax the car to prepare for the hard winter.
In the winter, you can do the following: Change your tires to winter or all-season if the tread is bad on your old tires, check the defroster and heater if they are ready for the harsh winter, check the fluids.
If you do these things, you should be able to have your car for a long time.
