Hyundai Electric and Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles

Thanks to a company-wide focus on efficiency, Hyundai is proud to offer three fully electric vehicles and two plug-in hybrid options. The Ioniq Electric, Hyundai's fully electric car, has a driving range of 170 miles. For an electric SUV, there's the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kona Electric. The Ioniq 5 has an impressive driving range of 269 miles for the performance model or 300 miles for the more efficient option. Just as cool as the Ioniq 5 but slightly less efficient, the five-seater Kona Electric has a driving range of 258 miles on a single charge.

While not fully electric, plug-in hybrids combine electricity and gas for huge boosts to fuel efficiency. The Hyundai Ioniq plug-in hybrid can drive up to 29 miles on electricity alone but has an impressive combined driving range of 620 miles. Hyundai also offers two plug-in hybrid SUVs-the Tucson and Santa Fe. Put your foot on the pedal of a new way to move at Seidel Hyundai!

How Charging Works

Hyundai electric vehicles have two charging options: normal and fast-charging. Normal charging is what you would typically use at home as your standard charging option. Your vehicle will take longer this way but is the most accessible option you'll have for your home. The Kona can charge normally in as little as 7 hours and 30 minutes and the Ioniq can charge this way in 6 hours and 5 minutes. Fast charging stations are what you'll find in public. They use direct currents to speed the process up to lightning-fast speeds, literally. With fast charging, both the Kona and the Ioniq can charge in just 54 minutes.

While charging an electric vehicle may be more time consuming than stopping for gas, you won't usually have to wait for a charge unless you're driving past your vehicle's range in one go on a road trip. There are also more charging stations than ever and they are easy to find with a quick search.
