Upcoming Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup Truck in Reading, PA

Hyundai Santa Cruz Truck Concept from 2015

What We Know About The Upcoming Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup Truck

The all-new Hyundai pickup truck is set to be unveiled soon. While no official information has been released yet, we expect to hear an official announcement later this year. In the meantime, we've gathered all the information available about the new Santa Cruz truck, including the new technology it's expected to feature and more!

The Hyundai Santa Cruz was first unveiled as a concept in 2015 at the Detroit Auto Show. The design of the concept vehicle (pictured above) is expected to inspire the design of the production vehicle.

Production Facility: Built in the USA

One fact we know for sure is that the new Santa Cruz truck will be made and manufactured in Montgomery, Alabama. The plant was updated and given a generous extension to have the production facilities necessary to put Hyundai's new lineup of vehicles. The plant was committed to providing America with a quality crossover from Hyundai. A large financial investment and the hiring of many new workers shows the company's confidence in this new vehicle.

Power & Performance

The Santa Cruz truck is expected to share a platform with the Santa Fe crossover, including the Santa Fe's 185-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder and 235-hp turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. Crossovers are often lauded for their fuel economies and drivability, but their overall performance is sometimes a little lackluster. With the new Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup truck, we expect to see a new focus on the vehicle's power output and towing capabilities.

We expect the new Santa Cruz pickup's performance to be above and beyond the competition.

Technology

Modern safety and entertainment technology have come a long way in automobiles, and we'd place our bets on the new Santa Cruz reflecting that. We expect several standard driver assistance features, standard device connectivity for both Apple and Android smartphones, and a quality infotainment system accessible through a touchscreen display.
