The Hyundai Palisade vs. The Kia Telluride: A Contest of Two Large SUVs
If you've been following recent Hyundai news lately, then you're well-aware that the Hyundai Palisade is coming nearer and nearer to its official release. Now, for our part here at Seidel Hyundai, we couldn't be more excited for the debut of the new 2020 Hyundai Palisade. Afterall, it's one of the largest models Hyundai has ever made, a bold new flagship SUV to cap off the lineup and herald a new era of design and innovation for the brand.
Of course, if you're even half as excited about the new Hyundai Palisade as we are, then you've no doubt heard that it faces some competition from another cousin from the Korean Peninsula, the Kia Telluride. Now, at a view from 10,000 feet, both the new Hyundai Palisade and the new Kia Telluride seem remarkably similar. Both have roughly the same platform, roughly the same powertrain options, and roughly the same seating capacity with room for up to eight passengers. The good news is that this makes both the new Hyundai Palisade and the new Kia Telluride great cars for families here in the greater Reading, PA area.
However, there are a small but significant differences that set the new Hyundai Palisade apart from the eight-passenger SUV crowd, and we'd relish the chance to walk you through them here at Seidel Hyundai.
First thing's first, let's talk style!
Take a glance at both the Hyundai Palisade and the Kia Telluride in profile, and you'll see that the two nearly have the same silhouette. Nevertheless, the two have some key styling differences that set them apart.
For one thing, we'd characterize the Hyundai Palisade as a bit more of an upscale model, with its oversized front grille accented neatly by sharp and slim LED headlights. It's curves and body character lines are also a bit sleeker and smoother than those of the Kia Telluride, which is more angular, blocky, and muscular-looking overall.
On top of those aesthetic variations, both the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride have some distinct color choices that differentiate one from the other. For example, the Hyundai Palisade features a deep blue Moonlight Cloud paint scheme that the Kia Telluride lacks. However, the Kia Telluride can be clad in a rich Black Copper color that isn't available for the Hyundai Palisade, so the differences cut both way.s
Slip inside and see what's in store!
As we mentioned before, the cabin of both the Hyundai Palisade and the Kia Telluride seat eight, so even growing families will be hard-pressed to fill them to the brim. However, there are some differences between how Hyundai and Kia plan an interior. For an example of that, take a quick peak at the instrumentation cluster. Both the Hyundai Palisade and the Kia Telluride can be outfitted with traditional gauges and a head-up display, but only the former gets an available 12.3-inch fully digital instrumentation screen available on its equipment list, giving it a much more futuristic feel.
Hop in the back!
The Hyundai Palisade and the Kia Telluride aren't just people movers, they're also plenty roomy when it comes to luggage. And even though the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride have nearly the same space in terms of overall cargo area, the new Hyundai Palisade makes it a lot more easily accessible. Thanks to its power-folding third-row seats, which are not available on the Kia Telluride, the Hyundai Palisade makes it effortlessly easy to get your stuff in and out of the car, and go about your day with no downtime.
